Over the last 8 months I have gone down 2 dress sizes, from size 20 trousers to size 16. These size 16 trousers are still a little snug but they do up without me having to lay down and breathe in which is a plus! I would ideally like to go down to a size 10/12 as I was 10 years ago. I am eating more healthily, eating more home cooked dinners, fewer takeaways, and I am trying to walk more although I've not done a huge amount of this the last few months. I have plateaued out for the last few months at around 14 stone.
My main weakness is snacking, as I tend to eat when I am bored.
What I am going to do is start logging what I eat, and how much exercise I do each day. I am hoping that logging what I eat will stop me from snacking a lot! And also motivate me to do more exercise.
Something else I am thinking of doing is changing my main meal to be lunch instead of dinner, to enable me to burn off more calories during the day. I would really love to burn off another stone in weight before I get pregnant again which would take me down to the middle of the overweight bracket, and a much better position than I was when I got pregnant with my son. But even if I don't manage to lose that much weight before getting pregnant again (we are TTC) then I am planning on eating better than I did in my last pregnancy, so I should not gain as much weight, and make it easier to get down to my goal weight. I would like to be down to a comfortable size 14 shortly after giving birth to my second baby. And then a comfortable size 12 within a year of giving birth.
Today marks day 1 of recording my food intake and exercise log. I hope it encourages me to eat more sensibly!
